10-15% tongue weight.. I've used this to make/load trailers and never had issues. Ben is pretty much on. 10% of total loaded trailer is optimal for tongue weight. If you put a wood rack up front this will make it a little trickier. Since it will be rolling loaded to the cookout and unloaded on the return. If you are towing it with a pickup it will handle the extra tongue weight but two things it's gonna do. 1. Make it ride like absolute crap towing. 2. Make it a bear to move around when it's not attached to the truck. Make it too lite & : 1. It will wander all over the road behind you 2. Bust your chin when you unhook it from the truck. Good luck and that is a fine looking smoker!

Needed to weld up the hole on top... fitted... Welded... Smoothed out As I said earlier I've opened my big mouth and told dad I'd show him how to cook ribs. I got to get some fire time to get use to this dude and I only have a few weeks. So I decided to go ahead and temporarily mount the smoker to the trailer and finish the trailer later. I tend to over do stuff, so I could work on the trailer for months if I had the time. Plasma sure is nice on mounts I just mounted it neutral, I'll add weight to the front of the trailer after I mount a propane burner.

Pulled the rig to the house to run a fire through it... I still have a lot to do to the trailer and a few things to do to the cooker, but I needed to put a fire through it so I could start learning the cooker. I've been running it for about 8 hours on oak splits... Next it needs cleaning and seasoning, and painting. And then some Q thrown on it. I'm glad the weather has cooled off, I need to be running the chain saw.

Turned out to be a pretty easy fix. I went ahead and replaced the cables along with the spring. I could see were it'd dangerous if you used a pipe wrench or let the bars slip. But it sure is nice to have it back working. Pretty productive night, mounted a vise to the work bench. Fixed my chop saw and cleaned up a bit. Sure is nice to take steps forward with out the two steps back. Now where's some wood to knock on...
