Adding the extra reservoir. It has a return port and supply port.

Enlighten me on how your going to use the resivior with the pump that has a resivior on it? One is going to over fill the other. Just curious. I didn't catch that. ![](//storage.proboards.com/3613987/images/BpaIyaAZycYl9y_eF_Sw.gif) Return line in and out? Dunno how you could keep one from overflowing the other though. I don't either.

I run an old transmission cooler on mine and don't have any problems See, I forgot all about our conversation we had about this. I need to go to the junk yard anyways. I've talked to too many people. Tht was a conversation I had with Jeffrey Lane. I'm ready to be done with this thing..

Got the electric fuel pump mounted and all the fuel lines installed. Wired it all up (minus the relay right now) and flipped the switch and fired it up. He likes the electric fuel pump!!

When installing an automatic transmission into a Jeep that was born with a 5spd there are a lot of things that need to be changed and verified. I have come across yet another obstacle with my swap. The input shaft on the 231 transfer case is shorter for the 5spd vs the automatic. So when doing this swap you need to either swap out the input shaft with one that's the correct length (because it's about 3/4" short and doesn't reach the seal) or you can purchase this transmission seal extension from Teraflex www.teraflex.biz/automatic-seal-extension.html. I found this out because when I started putting the fluid in all was going well until about quart number 5, this is when the fluid started a nice steady piss stream out of the weep hole in the bottom of the housing. I dropped the tcase and figured it was a bad seal so I got a new one, greased the input shaft, reinstalled the tcase, cranked up the Jeep and started putting in another quart of fluid and it went to leaking. I dropped the tcase and saw that none of the grease came off of the input shaft. This is when Weezie mysteriously remembered that there's a part needed for this particular application. Thanks to him I now have the part I need on it's way and it'll be here within the next few days.

This reminds me of when Hockett swapped his 4 cyl to a 4.0.. seemed to be the small things that got him stuck

Yeah. Well at least there's some good info on this swap as far a what to do, what not to do, what to look out for.
On a good note, I'm getting my old tcase shifter back. Gonna look for an aftermarket one tonight for the transmission. The entire set up down to the cables is a bit too expensive for my taste. I'd love to keep factory shifters but I can't justify spending $300.00 on them. They're hard to come by so full price has to be paid for them, no big deal. I'm gonna try my best to get him ready for New Years, plenty of other stuff to do while I wait on this part. I've got the tcase in place so I can do the driveshafts and stuff.

Looking good. It's the little things that are the most annoying.

Sunday morning I got the perches and the truss/truss bridge welded onto the rear axle housing. I had to add a piece of 1/4" to the truss bridge to get it to connect to the actual truss. The pieces came from two different manufacturers. I also welded the tubes, with a 220 welder this time. Welded, cooled....welded, cooled.....welded, cooled. Between the truss and bridge, and the tubes welded with a real welder I SHOULDN'T have any issues with the chunk spinning....

Does your truss go between your spring perches or are the perches on top? I need a pic for future reference.

........I SHOULDN'T have any issues with the chunk spinning.... That sounds like a dangerous statement, a little like a tempting fate.....
