I'm using my pump that's on my jeep. From what I've been told, the YJ pump is the go-to pump for hydro steering. The reservoir in the pic is the other component of that, I'll add the cooler later. With how big the reservoir is and the time of year I shouldn't have a problem with the fluid overheating. We all need to remember this when the fluid overheats. Haha In the dead of winter on one run and one trail it should be just fine!!!

Didn't really do a whole bunch today but what I did get done helped out a ton. I got the transmission cooler and lines installed. I used the solid lines from that 46rh and routed them up to the front, right under where the orbital valve is mounted and then attached the hoses to the solid lines there. I got the mechanical fuel pump off, made a cardboard template, and then cut out a plate from some left over 1/8" stuff I had in the garage. Also fabricated a mount for the steering reservoir. An old Camaro fender support, a piece of 1" angle iron, and a section of channel that we cut off for the frame stretch in the front. Works like a champ, all I need is a big hose clamp to take the place of these zip ties. I made it to where it bolts to the intake in the same location as two of the bolts for the power steering pump.

I hope you used your cardboard template as a gasket when you were done.

Yeah, some people have some issues and some don't. Hell, I don't know. I'll give it a shot and see what happens. Hopefully with the big reservoir, the openness of the engine compartment, and the outside temp it'll be ok for this run. How much pressure does one of the full hydro systems push through the lines? I was talking to Weezie about running the same type cooler I got for the tranny but it just has the studs that the rubber hose clamps onto, not a fitting to screw a line into.

You're using a stock yj pump. Shouldn't be related to the hydro system. I'd make sure it was on the return side.

My ram and pump are PSC, it was required to have a cooler for warranty purposes, no cooler, no warranty. And yes, the cooler goes on the return line, no real pressure there. Hose and clamps are fine. Most stock vehicles run power steering coolers, nowadays.

Enlighten me on how your going to use the resivior with the pump that has a resivior on it? One is going to over fill the other. Just curious.
