Started cleaning parts over the weekend. Aluminum valve cover and timing cover got washed in the parts vat to degrease them. Next they will go in the blast cabnet to be glass bead blasted. And prolly just spray with satin clear to seal it. I like the aluminum look just not a bright Polish on it. I really want to paint it Chevy Orange but undecided yet. I think its supposed to be a light blue (Chrysler Blue) but it resembles Ford blue to much. Lol!

Went to pull a part in Jackson today and looked around for some stuff. Found an HEI distributor from an '79 Chevy 6 cyl truck for one part of the nutter bypass. Started looking for a Motorcraft 2100 2bbl carb for the other part of the bypass. No luck there. Only found one truck that "was" a carb and it was gone already. Everything else was FI.
They had one XJ on the yard and it has a HP 30 in it and it has the disconect on it. If anyone needs it. Lots of LS engines and trans parts.
There are 12 Explorers on the yard with gears from 3.27 open to 4.10 L/S. (Most were 3.73 open) I'll be going back for a 4.10 unit later.

Removed and cleaned and painted mounts and brackets from old engine and put on new one. Pulled an cleaned intake, drilled out a broken exh. stud in manifold. Painted both and installed. Finally set in place. Today should finish it up and have a running Jeep again.

Can't wait for the start up video. .. Yeah Kevin it looks a lot different! It should be a good motor, everything went back standard. Now with the HEI distributor and Motorcraft carb. maybe it'll run as good as it looks.
