At 35 I can tell it's kicking in... What hair is not falling out is starting to turn grey. I've noticed several greys past few years, but when I shaved it off this morning, I saw large clumps of grey. BBBBBBBuuuuuuuuuuuutttttt...............Of all things, what got me the most is when I broke down an bought a 1.25 power cheater lens for my welding helmet and the fact that it helps... urrhhhh!!!!

It's easier to focus on the puddle while tigg'n.

Not a lot done on the Camaro... Needed to fix the lawn mower, plant some tomatoes, and modify a trailer that's been a PITA. This is one of the handiest trailers. It's light and maneuverable, but it sways so much, it takes up two lanes going down the road. It doesn't matter how I have it loaded or the height of the ball. And... it rattles like a mother freaker. The neighbors hear me coming!!! I don't have a pic of the whole trailer, but it's just a little 4'x8' tilt trailer. I've decided it's time to fix it. It only has one bolt that holds the tongue in place, as you can imagine the bolt hole has enlarged thus causing a lot of play. I drilled it out to the next size larger and welded in some scrap pipe as a bushing. I stole an alemite from the old camaro tie rod. I learned I had weld up the base to make it thick enough the alemite to screw into. Most of the rattling was from where the pin hooked into the triangle. Horrible design... I added a pipe to cut down on the noise. New belt and battery for the lawn mower. Now Sweetness is happy, so I'm happy... Just because the sun is down doesn't mean it's time to stop. Planted Sweetness about 15 tomato plants by the patio. Had to get them out before it rained all week. 9:30p.m. and still going, no time for rest...

Of course, I made some time for the mistress... The 9" housing that I'm going to build had about a 1/2" of crud on it. Brought the wire wheel out and cleaned it up. I need to whack off the leaf spring perches, build some four link & pan hard mounts and narrow the rear end. I still need to drill down the wheels and rear brakes I'm going to use so I know what width to cut the 9" too. So I'll set her a side for a while, I have plenty of other stuff going on at the moment. I finished up fabbing the other load box and drill the the flanges for the rosette welds. The rosette welds on the wide side line up with the frame rail flanges. They should plenty sturdy for hard launches with sticky tires.

With this nice weather, I should be throwing it in high gear. But.... work has had me going some long hours. I'm probably due a good break. I'm going to try to sneak out there from time to time before it gets too hot. Finished welding subframe connectors and load boxes under the car. I need to finish cleaning and the throw on a coat of epoxy on the bottom of the floor board. During lunch Friday I ran out to the Blue Suede cruise. I saw several 67-69 Camaros, but I was more less diss-apointed. Nothing really caught my eye. Some were ok, others looked thrown together. Most were stock or just gaudy. I did see a nice black 68 SS that the owner was trying to sell me. I humored myself and got to talking money and he threw out that he had $100K in it but would let it go for $60K. I started giggling at first b/c I thought he was joking and then that awkward moment sat in... He was serious and I just laughed at him. Big ass hole right here... I came out of the dungeon(work) for some sunlight Sunday. I caught the tail end of the "Blue Suede Cruise" just as the were doing their last raffle. Which means everyone was loaded up, sitting on ready and waiting on go. Glad I sneaked out b/c I saw a really cool group of Camaro's from Memephica. I did manage to grab some snap shots. The owners seemed really cool, wish I could have got to hang out some. The blue and black 69 was nice... A little too naustagic for my taste, but beautiful car. Mike will approve of this one. The black one was a cool ride, I spoke with him for about 5 minutes, cool cat. He built and painted it in his garage. He said it was a budget build, but I don't think he was referring to the wheels. The front was air bagged. I was fond of this one, probably my favorite. I refuse to paint mine green, but I will say I've been loving some green on these cars.

I made it to the blue suede cruise for a little bit Saturday while I was down at my sisters working. it was a year ago to the day that I went down there the first time after the tornado earlier that week and I saw the cars everywhere but there wasn't time to go then and vowed not to miss it this year. There was some very nice vehicles there.

How nice is it to work on something that old and not have greasy nasty hands putting it back together?

Just an FYI with that 9", get the axle tube seals and keep the vent tube on the back side of the ring gear. I moved mine and it blew out of the vent tube everytime I drove it. And I could never get the bearings to seal right.

How nice is it to work on something that old and not have greasy nasty hands putting it back together? I definitely don't have to worry about rust or grease. Not sure what's actually considered to be old on this thing anymore. It'll be nicer when I'm done lining up the sheet metal... I've been mocking up the fenders and they've been a real PITA. I got the passenger side close. I've got a few more days of cursing before I have the driver side. So far, I screw with it a few hours, walk away and come back later.

And I could never get the bearings to seal right. I'll keep that in mind... I still got a lot to learn before starting on the 9". I pretty much got a good idea of what I want, once I get the body in primer and blocked I'll start digging in on the specifics.
Can't wait until that day, I told myself once I get her ready for paint, I'd pull the trigger on the wheels.

Between all the overtime at work and spending my free time in the shop, I had to score some points with the wife... I planted enough tomatoes for her and the squirrels. It's actually cheaper to go to the farmers market, than it is to do it this way. But that seems to be the way most my hobbies work out. I did this last year and it worked out pretty well. I just added a couple more rows... Just barely beat the rain.

Not bad. We've got two gardens going now but only one fully planted. As weird as it is to do (growing shit), it's actually quite relaxing. From building it, to planting to harvest. Although it can be very expensive depending on how you do things but the payoff of fresh grown food is unbeatable.

If that's the same Blue 69 with White stripes as the one from Memphis, he has an LS9 under the hood of it. Pretty sweet ride!
Liking the latest progress, keep it up!
