This build is awesome! I'd never have the patience to do a build like this.

Thanks Weezy!
Finished throwing together the light fixture for the welding table. I definitely need to practice on my tig'n...

Started back on the sub-frame connectors. Like I was saying earlier, I want to make it where I can unbolt the front clip. I'm going to weld in some pipe to the bolts from crushing the connectors.
Drilled 3/4" holes to fit pipe that has ~ 1/2" inside diameter. That'll allow me to use 1/2" bolts. ![](http://i1033.photobucket.com/albums/a411/shadrock79/ZBOSS/745A5D47-4B97-4CE6-B849-AF2A873AF2D8_zps9z0dllfl.jpg)

I tend to set small goals, it allows me to focus on sections so I can move forward.
So my goal now is to finish the floor board modifications and get it painted so I can set the front sub-frame back under and start fitting the front sheet metal. It'd be great to get the car painted this year.
-Finishing floor board modifications- Since I plan on building a parallel four link for the back, I thought it'd be a good time to build the load boxes for the upper control arms. I "think" that will be the last of the major floor mods.
I'm not going to go all out and get original with the suspension. No point in trying re-invent the wheel, I'll just try to mimic the Detroit Speed design of the Quadra-Link. It appears to be a proven system. It's essentially a parallel four link with a pan hard bar. They're asking $2,950 plus shipping for their 4-link kit with adjustable coil overs. Ehhh, I'm going to wing it and see what I can build it for. I have buddy that's going to give me his old coil-overs from his mustang. Been doing a little research and I found some rod ends similar to a smaller johnny joint with derlin bushings to tame down the vibrations. I think I build the set up for a third of DSE's price. It may not be as good, but I think it'll be good enough to go pick up groceries with. It'll be cheaper than buying new lowering springs, shocks, and keep me from having to narrow the gas tank(from bringing in the leaf springs).
I marked off the spots to cut for the load boxes. It's hard to tell what's parallel in the car, so I aligned the lazer level with with the pinch welds(floorboard/Rockers). From there I measured off the lazer. Works great since the floor isn't even close to being flat. I've learned that masking tape works better as a line than a black marker.

Just to let you guys know, the Lizard Skin doesn't grind off easily. It gave 36 grit Roloc a run for it's money. Nothing time and patience won't overcome...

Also fitted the cover to go back over the back subframe connector.

Not a lot done this after evening, mainly just measuring and cutting...

I've always wanted a vertical band saw. But the metal cutting saws seem to very pricey unless you get a used 3 phase beast from an old factory. Then they take up a ton of room(I don't have), and you need a convertor to change from 3 phase to 220V. So I took a gamble and tried this set up out. ![](http://i1033.photobucket.com/albums/a411/shadrock79/ZBOSS/CCAD3120-A5F6-4E8E-8829-4A5188FE2834_zpsw3qjrk3t.jpg) For some dumb reason, I thought it would come with a blade. Had to make a quick run to the weld shop before they closed... ![](http://i1033.photobucket.com/albums/a411/shadrock79/ZBOSS/4C6BED8F-7F45-40C6-AA64-2377DE449B1E_zpsr4ss6vge.jpg) I got this little metal stand from Swagg Offroad to convert the portaband to a vertical band saw. Pretty nice little set up, really well made. ![](http://i1033.photobucket.com/albums/a411/shadrock79/ZBOSS/6BFA7D1D-3C31-493C-882D-EF4CD5283F5D_zpsudu73kbo.jpg) Mounts pretty solid, I like the fact that it's small and can sit on a bench top. And I can just run to HomeDepot on a Sunday to pick up a blade if I need to... ![](http://i1033.photobucket.com/albums/a411/shadrock79/ZBOSS/36722E17-B0C4-4E6E-80A2-5AC81C073B9A_zps8utoi8xn.jpg) Had a small burr in each rail I needed to knock down with a file so the guide would slide through. No biggee... ![](http://i1033.photobucket.com/albums/a411/shadrock79/ZBOSS/0A95D52F-0361-4A9D-9503-584B28031380_zps2fba4o1n.jpg) Just made a quick cut on 1/8" steel, I've got several brackets to try it out on later. I think it'll come in handy on building the roll cage in the future. And it'll be nice to keep from having to drag out the plasma cutter for little detail stuff in the future. ![](http://i1033.photobucket.com/albums/a411/shadrock79/ZBOSS/FC8F188D-385B-4A11-93BA-A718586AF5A5_zpslbtp18cx.jpg)

I still haven't fixed my plasma, so I had to cut the steel with the cut off wheel... ![](http://i1033.photobucket.com/albums/a411/shadrock79/ZBOSS/81A61AC6-AF7D-44C7-87D8-65F68F4492B4_zpsmvwpjlcm.jpg) Used the piece I just cut and formed it to the profile I wanted for the top side of the load box. I wanted to make it taller, but it still needs to fit under my back seat. I need to screw it down and make a template to go to the floor board for each side. These will house the upper control arms for the 4 link. ![](http://i1033.photobucket.com/albums/a411/shadrock79/ZBOSS/A6AFDDE5-BC05-465E-90F8-44088E5EC0A7_zpsqmzzcibb.jpg)

Played with the load boxes and welded in the seat mounts today. Made some templates. ![](http://i1033.photobucket.com/albums/a411/shadrock79/ZBOSS/D66687CF-76C7-4969-B9BD-7EBAD0C29E35_zpsktilha8o.jpg) Don't get jealous of the white socks and brown loafers. ![](http://i1033.photobucket.com/albums/a411/shadrock79/ZBOSS/826C4A37-5854-48D5-91E0-8E3E25E53D95_zpsfclhxnxo.jpg) Tacked up... ![](http://i1033.photobucket.com/albums/a411/shadrock79/ZBOSS/0B447324-A088-497B-BA73-ACB8CF605656_zpsuhzuvg58.jpg) Tig welded the pieces together on the bench. I've got good penetration, but I still need a lot more seat time to get that "pretty" tig weld bead. At least there isn't any splatter to clean up. I hate cleaning the mill scale off ,it's the wost part of tigg'n cold roll. ![](http://i1033.photobucket.com/albums/a411/shadrock79/ZBOSS/BAB36020-C045-46E2-9B34-55A08FB23AD8_zpscxzhbvxd.jpg) Added some reinforcements for the sides. Adding a couple extra holes so I can adjust the instant center and anti-squat. ![](http://i1033.photobucket.com/albums/a411/shadrock79/ZBOSS/A33BF2AF-B152-429A-BC22-15B0BE9C8930_zpsvrwbhzap.jpg) Sitting in place, I think it'll work well. I'll add some flanges to match the contour of the floor for extra reinforcement and she'll be set to weld in. ![](http://i1033.photobucket.com/albums/a411/shadrock79/ZBOSS/DB419B2A-6C0A-4E65-8126-965185665F4B_zpsb4hbs3ed.jpg) Seat mounts fitted to the subframe connectors and welded in. ![](http://i1033.photobucket.com/albums/a411/shadrock79/ZBOSS/1A43F281-250A-44F1-A29D-4D3BBED546A1_zpsswz1zfub.jpg)

You'll love that SWAG table you bought. I have one and I use it all the time. Mine is one id their first ones without the guide but it's still great.
I also have their clutter catcher thing that holds grinders and a bunch of other stuff. Very handy on the welding table.
Car is looking great.

The foot switch went out after a couple uses, I emailed Troy with SWAG and he sent another in the mail the same day. If I'd known the foot switch was from Harbor Freight, I'd just swapped it out. But the table and guide are really good quality. And that thing is nice to use for quick easy cuts. Really nice for templates also. The INCRA miter gauge was a little too pricey, but it's nice to have for precision angles that I'll also use on my grinder and other saws. Hopefully I can keep Sweetness from stealing it from me for her wood working projects.
