Ooohhhh! A 'Glide!! Haven't had one of those in years. This is a first for me... had and have my share of 3 speeds. I imagine it'll take me a while to get use to only having two gears, at least there isn't much to tear up.

I had a '65 Chevelle one time, a 283 and p-glide. Good car,ran great. Had it for a while when the trans stated slipping in high gear pretty bad. So I drove it for a while just in low gear. It would still run 45-50 in low gear easy. Still like that when I sold it. If you don't like it or when you change everything out, I might be interested in it. Just to have one in case ya know.

I'll keep you guys in mind on the drive train. I'm going to hold out on parting with it until I know exactly how deep I'm going into the restoration. Once I realize I don't have a dime to my name, I may need to keep it... A few more stats on the car. 355 Jasper engine 4-bolt main 1.70 roller rockers 750 Edelbrock Carb 513 Cam B&M powerglide 3300 stall converter 10 bolt rear with Detroit locker, 4:11 gears
It actually feels pretty stout, has a healthy cam, and is running bad rich. It burns the hell out of my eyes... I can't stand the cherry bombs. Sounds like a damn log truck.
The interior isn't half bad. There's a tear in the bottom drivers seat, the driver door panel needs to be replaced, needs a headliner. The rest actually looks good...
I've put it on jacks stands and looked it over pretty good. I'll be installing the following: 2" steel cowl hood full floor pan rear frame rails full trunk pan right outer wheel well mini-tubs tail light panel and inside support panel
Somebody has put outer rockers panels and half skins on the quarters. If it was the same person that replaced the old trunk, I'll probably be replacing those also. The bird nest welds are freak'n horrible... One fender will need some patch work.
Should be a fun project. Took it for a drive today, it'll probably be the last for a long long time. I plan to start pulling it apart next week.

That 750 is a lot of carb for a SB that isn't heavily built. I've got an old chevy truck that is pretty well built and I have a 650 Eddlebrock and you can tune it waaaaaay too rich. Sweet looking ride look forward to watching.

You're right Grizz, had the same problem with my red Camaro... People seem to think bigger is better, surprisingly it cranks very well, but she'll burn the eyes as I'm driving. I sure a lot of it can be tuned out, but it really needs about 600. If everything goes as planned, I'll do away with that set up all together and come out pretty close to even money wise.
She sounds good at an idle... When the cherry bombs kick in it gets ridiculous.
Charlie, every time I see that trunk and floor boards, I want to beat the shit out of somebody. The weld beads between the trunk pan and the wheel wells are about an inch wide and look like they consist of pigeon shit and twigs. They didn't even address the rotted shock towers. I'm praying somebody else did the quarters, time will tell.

You guys suck. I've been looking on CL at old cars and trucks and if I had the damn money I'd bought something by now. I'm dying to have something to tinker with for the streets again. I love the YJ and the rock crawling, but there's nothing like a hot rod.
