(buuzzzzzz) Wrong!! I've always had the washer over the bracket.. The middle part of the connector has to be isolated from ground.. that's why the plastic washer is there.. From Stu Offroad.. Sometimes real world experience is the way to go rather than a salesman's directions that has never installed one, If what Weezie did fixed his why would you not try it You can shoot 38 shells through a 40 Glock too... But doesn;t mean it's right.. BTW.. I have done that and had to buy a new barrel for the guy.. The instructions are there for a guideline.. His may have worked but the proper way is the one shown.. The bottom of the mount has to be grounded and the middle is for transmitting... Not sure How or why his worked but he might wanna look into it and see before he burns his CB up..

Mine is on the top too.. Because that's what it told me to do... Fwi Charlie... I have a 4' antenna and clear the garage... But I didn't piss away money on a mount.. I made one out of angle iron and mounted to the bottom 2 screws of the factory tire carrier... Perfectly centered on the jeep "Built not bought"

Only reason I did this was because the iron was there and I didn't want to buy 1... That and I'm too lazy to remove it and wanted to clear the garage door

I followed that diagram too and was talking to Grizzly Adams and sent him a pic and he said to move the washer underneath and it fixed it. Not sure what difference it made but I know it worked.

Those are not sliders! Find some rubi take-offs for cheap and be done with it. They may not cover all the damage, but a virgin never gets its virginity back....
