So I thought I would go ahead and start a build thread for the JK.. It doesn't have a name yet so I'll add it when it comes to me.. Picked it up at Lander's in Southaven.. got a good deal and some very accommodating sales people! 2013 JK Unlimited 3.6L V6 5 speed Auto Power stuff 3.21 D30 and D44 Hardtop 17" Wheels and street tread 1500 Miles About as stock as they come.. I know a ton about TJ's but not a whole lot about the JK's... I know we have a bunch of nice JK builds in the club, so I wanna know what you guys have done, not done or would steer clear of.. This build will be mild, 37's, regear and beefed up where needed.. front and rear bumpers, skids, winch etc. We wanna do more of the Expedition type runs, get out and see more than just the local parks. we love camping and we would be able to bring the dogs now too. So keep that in mind when making suggestions.. this will be her daily and my playly ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) It won't do 4's and 5's at SL but that's not what we want this time around. I know of some of the items I need to do starting off... like the Evap relocation and a programmer cause you can't get too far without it... Led's all over, offroad led's on the outside and tricks to make it expo ready... So what else would you suggest for a build like this? And remember I'm not made of money.. ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) Post up links too if ya can so I can bookmark for later use.. Thanks!! From the lot.... To the streets... Looks good with the club trailer! ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) And the first mod of course is being tagged with the most awesome club!! ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) ![](http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee287/charlied1771/2013%20JKU/20140130_150207_zps3d965830.jpg)

For what you guys are wanting to do, the 37s seem way overkill to me. It will look cool, but is it worth all the money?

For what you guys are wanting to do, the 37s seem way overkill to me. It will look cool, but is it worth all the money? I was thinking 35's but didn't know how well they would look.. With 37's I could do tube fenders and a mild lift and still fill the wheel wells... Plus bigger tire more traction.. I don't want to have to go 35's then later realize I should have went 37's.. I wanna buy once and be done.. How many are running 35's and how many 37's?? Pics to show the difference?

I did not even think I wanted 35s. But a good deal came my way. I clear them fine with my 3 and 1/4 Rough Country kit. By far not the nicest JK. (I really like C2s), but mine does what I want and need it to do. It has definitely been built on the cheap as far as getting deals from vendors and such. I REALLY like my LEDs.

Mine has about 4.5 inches of lift on 35s. ![](http://i1311.photobucket.com/albums/s663/landc-2/2013-03-09175130_zps89cf7d02.jpg)

a simple but important upgrade for expo is to relocate tranny, Tcase, and axle vent lines higher to avoid water intrusion during water crossings

hhmmm.. Maybe 35's is the way to go then... Chris... Why do you say the soft top is better than the hardtop?? I've been thinking about this and ours will reside in the garage and prolly won't be driven much when at home.. especially in the winter.. and these hardtops go for a lot!! Wonder if I can convince her to sell it tho.. ![](//storage.proboards.com/3613987/images/BpaIyaAZycYl9y_eF_Sw.gif)

Nice!! I think the 2012 and up have the evaps in a different spot tho.. I have seen a relocate kit that puts it up in the middle where it can't get hit.. which would also make room for a tank under there... I also noticed they don't leave a hell of a lot of room for anything... they crammed everything together.. especially under the hood! One thing about having a newer Jeep.. not a lot of aftermarket yet.. ![](//storage.proboards.com/3613987/images/qYSlfRYCUZYUYMb2PIWl.gif)

35s on 3" lift ![](http://i867.photobucket.com/albums/ab235/makeos/07%20Unlimited%20Sahara/IMG_20130818_120331_440.jpg) I also ditched the hard top for a soft top. It still gets nice and warm in there.
