You need to spend some time reading on some Expo forums. The build for these type rigs is worlds apart from a "trail park" rig. 37" tires are goi look awesome but it is going to hurt your fuel mileage(which is key in an expo rig) it is also going to be annoying when you are getting gear in and out all the time. Put a mild lift 35" tires, gear it, lock it, get some good radial mud tires, a winch, keep the hard top, and some good exterior lighting. Spend the extra money you save from the 37" tires and spend on camping gear and storage solutions for the inside of the Jeep. Oh and like Mike said plumb your vent lines. Expo ridding involves water crossings. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) Feel free to give me a holler if ya have questions. I have built my TJ for just this type of riding.

35s on 3" lift ![](http://i867.photobucket.com/albums/ab235/makeos/07%20Unlimited%20Sahara/IMG_20130818_120331_440.jpg) I also ditched the hard top for a soft top. It still gets nice and warm in there. That looks about right!! What size wheels are you running??

hhmmm.. Maybe 35's is the way to go then... Chris... Why do you say the soft top is better than the hardtop?? I've been thinking about this and ours will reside in the garage and prolly won't be driven much when at home.. especially in the winter.. and these hardtops go for a lot!! Wonder if I can convince her to sell it tho.. ![](//storage.proboards.com/3613987/images/BpaIyaAZycYl9y_eF_Sw.gif) Ease of use mainly. Pop-up showers and hardtop in the garage doesn't mix. Hard top is huge and awkward too. I built a fancy lift to get mine on and off but it was still a huge pain. Soft top goes up or down in less than five min. And it helps keep the inside temp down in the summer.

Only thing I like about the soft top is it doesn't take up much space when it's off. And it looks better IMO. but mine doesn't like to fold down easily, it likes to leak, etc., etc.

Went and had the front windows tinted to match the rear.. Not a huge upgrade but gotta start somewhere right? ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

I like the pic Makeos posted. I'd do 35's with the minimum required lift to clear the travel.

The 2012 and up dana 30 has the same u joints as the 44's from what ive heard. Not hearing about as much breakage running 35-37's on them now. With 35's you might be able to get away with not regearing. Might suck trying to pull a trailer with 37's. I ran most of the 3-4's on 35's. Ive actually been thinking of going back to 35's. I did the evap relocate and gas tank skid first. The stockers are plenty strong enough for what you want to do. Plus the tranny pan on 12's is alot smaller than on older models. Theres alot of storage room behind the tail lights if you take them out. Can fit a compressor for OBA in there.

I'll do some research to see if that's the case...With 35's you might be able to get away with not regearing. I'm pretty sure mine has 3.21 gears in it.. It feels like it wants to stay in the "green" zone all the time unless you get on it.. 3.21 and 35's won;t mix for me. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) Might suck trying to pull a trailer with 37's. It came with the stock sub on back... everyone says they suck but with the top on it's not that bad.. remove, replace with better sub or just leave?

As far as the subs, im a stereo freak and love some boom. The sundown audio 8's are crazy and would be my first choice for a small custom box setup. I was actually impressed with the shallow kicker CVT 12's I had. But I would go custom box rather than the stock plastic thing.

I built a small sub box to fit under my passenger seat. Its no competition winner but it sounds good and unless a thief has a bunch of tools and tons of time, I dont have to worry about it getting stolen when the top and doors are off.
