Having good panels makes all the difference. When I did my Chevelle some of the cheaper stuff I tried to buy first didn't fit so well. Then I started buying better stuff and the fit and finish was nite and day.
Looking good Mike. Glad to see some progress, and I know you are too. Charlie you done good bud!

The panels I bought from Ecklers fit tight to the floor panels but they were only half panels and weren't tall enough to cover every thing that was rusted thru and the full panels came from Classic Chevy and didn't fit to the floor panels at all. They weren't shaped at all like they should have been.

Ecklers is where I got a lot of my Chevlle parts. Great fit and covered what I needed.

Thanks guys.. I was reluctant at first cause I've never butt welded pieces together and it turn out good.. but with a little practice on some old pieces it came together and looks almost like it was made that way.. Even looked at some of the stock welds and they look worse than what we did so I'm gonna say it's good enough.. All night Mike kept saying "It's not a show truck" Not sure who he was trying to convince.. me or him!

Yea I'm real happy with what we got done turned out, I was a bit worried myself to tackle such a big project but I knew if we just jumped in there that we could do it. The truck now has an official name too, It will now be called " Patches "

They were building a truck. This thing will likely have panels lined up better than they were from the factory. Good job guys.

Your right, The passenger door lines up way better than factory now that we rebuilt that front corner That's usually the way it goes. My Chevelle has way better gaps around the doors and trunk area than when we blew it apart.

I think if we had the time and money we could actually piece together an entire truck!
