I bought this boat several years ago to ride the rivers around here and the creeks near our house on the TN river where the ski boat can't go. Ive ridden the wolf river from hollywood out to germantown rd and out in rossville, also the hatchie a few times, and all up and down the TN river and every creek I could find. The boat is a 1958 Duratech s148 and the engine is a 1972 johnson 25hp. The day i picked it up First trip out The transom was rotten and the engine was mounted to low. It would only run about 18mph The engine needed a new fuel pump, fuel lines, primer bulb, carb rebuilt and lower unit resealed and tested before the next trip out. All the work payed off, she ran about 25 mph, I ran it like this for the past 3 years and all I had to do was change the plugs a few times.

I was beginning to get bored with it and decided I needed to make some changes or sell it. So I bought a 110hp seadoo to cut up and install the engine and jet in the boat. Had to fix the seadoo and water test it, then bring all the crap home from the lake. Cut the seadoo up with a sawzall, I itched for a week from all the fiberglass dust. Put all the leftovers on the curb. Had to bribe the garbage men $20 to haul it all away. This it what was under a 55 year old boats seat. Measure once cut twice

:punk:Hell yeah. My kind of fun a death trap. death trap seems to be the consensus. The seadoo weighed 500 lbs dry and went 60 mph. The boat hull weighs 210, i forgot to weight the engine but I'm thinking the whole package will be under 500. The boat has more wetted surface so it probably won't go 60mph but I'm shooting for atleast 50 mph.

what about the torque of the engine and the aluminum hull? A lot of 1/4" stainless steel screws and aluminum bracing. The hull is a good bit thicker than a new boat and is riveted together a lot better than the average rivet boat, hopefully it will hold up. I had it in a 2 acre pond yesterday and it floated fine and was really fast. basically hit the throttle and then hit the bank, but i was trying to steer with a pair of vise grips on the end of a cable.
