BTW.. don't be a dumbass and leave painters tape on chrome for weeks at a time... I did it on my '49 also, I got busy hunting and other crap and forgot, it will come off pretty easy with a little rubbing alcohol tho. As for my opinion on the door handles ..... Well you already know Alcohol wouldn't do it.. I have some petroleum based wax remover tho that worked real good.. All you damn door handle lovers can suck it!!

I'm all for cleaning a car up, but shaving everything can be as bad as having chrome everything.

That car would look just as good with the door handles and badges

The car looks great, but look at the side of the car. There is absolutely nothing. Like I said. Cleaning her up some is one thing, but after they put all that make up on her she's not wearing any jewelry.

plus I absolutely love the look of the Catalina emblems that go on the front fender... Charlie post up some pics of the emblems, they look freakin sweet.

Cool, I'm all for cleaning it up some, just not completely shaved. When you start dealing with door poppers, you have a new problem to deal with down the road. Door handles are extremely functional and a brand new set would look at home on that orange one. I'll quit going on about it now.

Not everyone has the same taste.. I take what I like and leave the rest..

Get one of these bastards that does photoshop. Find a stock 4 dr catalina photo and go to town. Swap colors, height, wheels and trim. In the end it's all about what puts a smile on your face.

Got the dual fan hooked up temporarily.. We'll see if that's the issue with the overheating or not.. The aftermarket gauge has the sensor in the stock intake location.. Some were saying it may be reading wrong and that it should be in the heads..

Well it's better... No thermostat, idling in the garage with no wind for about 10 minutes and it never got over 212.. turned it off and it crept up to 230.. started it up and it quickly jumped back to 212.. Does that sound normal for a 389 V8 car with a VERY old radiator that half the fins are folded and is prolly half stopped up with crud??
