Looks good man. I'll be cutting my fenders before to much longer, and the rear too.

David howd you sink the taillights? Yj looks great I made a card board template and traced it to the tub and cut it with the jig saw. Then I had to cut the tabs off the tail light housing where the screws for the lens were. Those same screws are what holds the light to the tub.

Ok, these are the axles that are sitting under it now. The rear is a '95 Explorer 8.8 and the front is a '96 Grand Cherokee D30. I went with this front axle for a couple of reasons. First being it's a solid axle vs the vacuum controlled axle like the YJ had. Second is it had the same gearing as my 8.8. So I got the 8.8 for $40.00 and the D30 for $150.00, which means I upgraded my axles AND gearing (went from a 3.07 to a 3.73) for UNDER $200.00. This is prior to cleaning off all of the old brackets. Here's the front ready for install....(sorry for the small pic) Here's the rear ready for install...

While the front was still out I went ahead and installed the Spartan on the workbench. Made it real easy with the axle still out.

I'm thinking of coming over to the dark side. I'm looking at picking up 92 YJ . Did you have to lower the transmission drop when you did the SOA for drive shaft alignment.

Didn't have to do anything with the tranny because of installing the SYE. Now, I was told the SYE is mandatory with the SOA because of the amount of flex you get and the definite "pull the yolk out of the tailshaft" issue. I am very pleased with my YJ, it does amazingly well on the trails. Total I have almost 9" of lift with doing the SOA and the 2.5" lift springs. If you want to take a look at it just let me know and you're more than welcome to swing by.

I will, I'm going to look at the jeep tomorrow. I am going to follow what you did with the axel swaps. The only draw back to the jeep is that it has a 4 banger.

I got the idea to order a BTF (Blue Torch Fab) do-it-yourself rear diff cover for my 8.8 from Jeffrey Lane (if that's his real name). I really did it because A. I noticed after SMORR that I curled up the bottom lip on the stock cover and could've really caused some damage if I hadn't been so lucky. And 2. It's just good to have the protection for the gears. So, this is what I started with, it came in 5 pieces. The ring is 3/8" and the body is 1/4" plate, this is it tacked together.... This is the finished product.... I was going to bolt it to the rear end to weld it up but I didn't feel like it so I just layed it on the work bench and took about 2 hrs with it. Tried to let it cool as much as possible to keep it from warping up real bad. I'm pretty happy with it, the welds don't look all that great but it's welded inside and out so it's nice and strong.
