Jump on route 66 and get some kicks! That's something I'd like to do oneday. Ice read where there are a lot of the little towns still there, some abandoned and some still going. That's a piece of history to be seen.

Blue Ridge Parkway up through Asheville, visit the Biltmore, go to all the mountains, see where they filmed "Last of the Mohicans" "Heavyweights" "Dirty Dancing" and a ton of other movies. Tons of great camping/fishing/hiking etc. Also Asheville is more microbreweries per capita then any other US city so there are tons of brewery tours/live bands etc... I used to live up there so I could go on forever. I miss that area. Then again, if you do decide to head to Charleston, I could probably hook you up with a place to stay. We'll be moving there in late July and have a ton of friends there.
