Let's say you had a company car with unlimited gas and you wanted to take a road trip... and let's say you had about 4 to 5 hundred dollars to spend. Let's also say that you had vacation time from Thursday June 27th till Sunday July 7th. Where would you go and what would you do or see?? Ready GO!

I would just drive west and make plans as I went. That's the direction she wants to go...But there's nothing until you reach the 16 hr. mark of driving..

We are summer folk.. so warm.. Not really looking for a destination as much as a journey... take our time and see a lot of cool stops along the way.. Dave.. As cool as Steamboat Springs is.. I have a feeling $500 wouldn't go very far there..

I went to Niagra Falls and back in a weekend. Left on Friday and was back on Sunday. That place is awesome! If you've never been it is amazing. There is a restaraunt that over looks the falls that is very romantic.
You would not regret it.

If you are going west there is always the old steam train that runs through the canyons in CO. My folks rode it several years ago and had a blast.

I've always wanted to do a south Texas trip. Go to Dallas / Ft. Worth and go toward the coast, Houston, San Antonio, Galveston. I went to San Antonio a few years ago on business and liked the city and always wanted to go back. Take in some of the old west so to speak.
