Well this got more interesting after my last post. 4 days after I picked it up the motor locked up completely. FINALLY found what appears to have been the problem. The EGR intercooler cracked and after it filled everything else up it poured antifreeze into the cylinders and locked it up. Ram is now replacing EVERYTHING under the hood. New block, heads, intake, exhaust, turbos, all of it. From what I was told it appears they are ordering the entire thing preassembled and it's going to be a drop in plug and play. In the mean time I'm moving to Colorado this week and they have me in an enterprise truck rental that I can take to Colorado and they will be paying for my plane ticket back to memphis once my truck is rebuilt. If anything changes I'll post it up.

This is why I took all that EGR crap off mine.. heard nothing but horror stories about them..

Well I thought I would include this last update. I've been in Colorado for about a month and had my truck back for a little overy 2 weeks now. When I picked it up everything worked great except the cruise control which worked fine before I dropped it off. But I literally had to pick the truck up and drive back to Colorado so I didn't have time to get it fixed. I talked to Chrysler who was in a hurry to finally close this case and they assured me that my trucks cruise would be fixed by a dealer in CO without issue and that they were going to send out my reimbursement check. So I got off work and took it straight to a dealer to get this last issue fixed and Chrysler denied the claim because the case had been closed. Go figure. The dealership knew of all my problems and saw all the work orders and fixed my cruise free of charge and tons me they would take it up with Chrysler. Now my truck has been issue free for two weeks and I love it. I get 24mpg or better in the city and around 15mpg or better hauling my 7x14 tandem axle trailer and the built in trailer brake controller makes it a breeze. I think the way the entire situation was handled was deplorable but I'm finally happy with my brand new motor in my truck. And I'm going to leave everything alone on the truck because I still have 60k miles of bumper to bumper warranty. Once the warranty is about to end I'll sell or trade it in. I love this truck but I will NOT own it outside of warranty. To much risk in my opinion but for now I don't feel any risk.
