So this obviously has nothing to do with you guys buy I need a place to vent and I know the club is/was affiliated with then so I thought this was as good of a place as any to start. So the meat of the story is I traded the jeep in on a used 15 ecodiesel ram. I felt like I got a fair price and was pretty happy with the deal. On the way home from the dealership the check engine light comes on. I bought the extra warranty so I wasn't to concerned but I pulled the codes when I got home and it was P04db and was in there 3 times where they saw it and cleared it and sold it to me without fixing it. No big deal it goes straight back to them when they open Monday (bought the truck on a Saturday) they get the truck and tell me they have to charge me $100 because of the way the warranty is. I argued because I knew they knew about the issue before they sold it to me and they backed off. They did a pcm update and gave it back. 2 days later the check engine light comes back on and the heat no longer works. Straight back to them and they tell me it's a valve and they replace it (which took a week to get the part) and I picked it up last wednesday. I'm a paramedic and work 48 hours shifts so I drove the truck Thursday with no problems worked Friday and Saturday so the truck didn't move and he get off Sunday and it comes back on. At this point I don't think they have any idea what's wrong and so I left a voicemail at 8am this morning and still hadn't heard back by 2 this afternoon. After calling again I got a call back but missed it. I guess I lost service or something because I didn't have a missed call but I got his voice mail. Called back an hour ago and haven't heard back since. What should my next step be? I've tried being understanding and I know I've gotten frustrated but I have this new truck and can't drive it more than a day or two at a time.

1. Talk to Jeff/Daniel 2. Take your warranty elsewhere. I don't think it matters what dealer you go to tho. I suspect you'll get the same results.

Tell me who the service adviser was , get me the last 8 of the Vin and the repair order number on the service invoice if they gave you one. It would be at the top of the invoice , a 6 digit number

PM sent. My service advisor has been ok at best. I feel like he's blowing smoke but I also feel like that's kinda his job. I just can't see dropping my truck off with them to replace some small part and give it back with nothing more that hopes that the actual problem is solved. My aunt and grandfather worked in the warranty department at freightliner for years (my aunt still is) so I'm trying to not be that awful customer that no one wants to work with but I just was want my truck to work.

Just a little update. I dropped the truck back off the Tuesday before thanksgiving and haven't really heard anything since. I talked to the service manager Tuesday and he told me it's in the shop being worked on and when he knew something he would call me and let me know and he hasn't called. I asked if we could ask the tech what's been done and he said no it doesn't work that way and he cant tell me anything until the tech gives him some paperwork. I appreciate the help from Daniel and I'm hopeful this gets fixed once and for all I just still feel like it could have been handled better. I feel like a simple phone call update isn't too much to ask paperwork or not. I would be happy if he called me and said "I'm sorry we have absolutely no idea what's wrong with your truck but we're going to do..." or whatever just so I know what's going on. I realize they have more to work on than just my truck but I bought the truck in the end of October and have barely driven it and it's not looking like it's going to be back any time soon

Every time I've dealt with the guys down there I've always had good luck. Always remember to contact Daniel in these kinds of situations and see if he can get you some info.

They called yesterday and said it's ready. I couldn't hear really well but I think he said they replaced the ECM. I'm hoping this was the actual problem but only time will tell. I'll admit I'm worried this is only a patch. Like they ate hoping if they put a new code free computer in it then hopefully the code won't come back but I'm sure the ECM isn't cheap so hopefully they are right. I'll surely update everyone in the near future.

9 hours. Their fix lasted 9 whole hours. I drove off the lot at 1030 and the light came back on at 730. I think I put 50 miles on it or something. So needless to say I'm going to be back at landers tomorrow morning.

I had a doctors appointment this morning so I'm about to head to there but I may have to discuss other options with them. This is the 4th time is going to have to go to them for the same problem. I think the next step is to get Chrysler involved. I really hate the way this is going down but it's getting to the point of absurd. I'm about to make my second payment on this truck and I can't even drive it because when the light comes in it makes my heat quit working and it is 30-40 degrees outside.

Finally heard from Ram and it wasn't promising. He basically said they have no idea what's wrong and the guy I get to talk to is just customer service and has no idea what's going on beyond the computer screen. So basically no idea what's wrong with no time frame on getting it fixed. I really liked this truck but it's getting to the point that I would almost rather them just buy it back.
