Chris asked me to start this thread so here we go...
Warren Holbert is one if the sweetest 6 year old boys I know. On March 6th, he was ran over by a neighbor in front of his house. He suffered a fractured pelvis, ribs, and skull. The worse injury has been the traumatic brain injury that has affected his left side.
He was at LeBonheur for about 6 weeks, then transferred to Atlanta for intensive inpatient rehab. He is currently in a day rehab program for the next 4 weeks. If all goes well, he should be back home mid June, and will continue rehab here.
Lynda (his mom) has not worked since the accident. Pat works when he can. They also have two older daughters (Ashton is 14, Mallory is 10) as well, who have pretty much stayed with Warren the whole time.
This kiddo is Tonka tough. You guys do not know how much this means to me, let alone how much it will mean to them.

So it's safe to go ahead and get the word out about this being our new charity drive?

Warren and his family need a helping hand and that's our focus so let's do all we can for them!
We know Summer Run attendance will be lower due to the choosen park, so we need to step it up with local fundraisers before the ride. We need ideas and people willing to see them through!
-car wash -cookout -having the raffle here instead of the run
These are just ideas off the top of my head. Maybe good, maybe bad, but it's a start. Post up your ideas and what you and we as a group can do to make them successful!

Doing a cookout similar to what we did at the check hand over for the winter run would be nice. And maybe have a big donation bucket set aside. We could make it a big family event at Shelby farms or something. Maybe get games set up and charge 2 dollars or something like that to play and everything go to the family. Just an idea.

Like the above ideas Can do a cookout at a park , couple of dollars per plate Carwash for donations Of course , tee shirts and raffles . The down side of cooking out at Landers is, they normally cook out for employees for lunch and the scraggly customers that either drive up just to get a burger or customers purchasing vehicles. So I don't know if that would work there. But a cookout would definitely work.

Lets definitely plan something for Landers as well. The cookout probably needs to happen elsewhere for a few reasons, but something else at Landers is a must!

Is there money to make in selling shirts? Was just thinking of something we could offer for sale to other wheelers not in the club to help out as well. We probably won't sell b2b summer run shirts but to people in the club. But if we had an offroad related "wheeling for Warren" shirt, then maybe a few people out of wto and Hanger 10 ,etc may buy one. Most offroad people love offroad related shirts, and helping people out, but usually stay pretty loyal to thier own when it comes to club names. Just a thought, like I said I don't know how much money shirt sells make.

We do bring in a good bit of money for our charities with shirt sales.

We can make a little money on shirts and I think it's a great idea to make something that more than just our club would buy. If we design something and put it on FB and IG we might can sell a few. Every little bit will help.

Now being as a lot of people can't make it to the run. Would there possibly be an interest in have a cookout with raffle at Landers? Reason being, not only would techs and walk up customers probably buy in on the raffle. But club members that could show up locally for that? And I wouldn't stop at not maybe going ahead and having some shirts made up to sell at the raffle/cookout if it were a possibility. Everyone likes a good, cheap tee shirt, and going towards a good cause at that?

We would probably sell more if you didn't have to be present to win. Just looking at it as a fund raiser and not an event draw.
