Ok guys, gals, kids, and all others it's time to start throwing out ideas for families that we want to help with our next event. To those of you that are new and may not have had time to read what we're all about this is a quick rundown.......
Every year we have two club sponsored events, with each event we will pick a local small organization or a local family that is in need of help. We sell event t-shirts and raffle tickets, and even collect monetary/clothing/other goods as donations, and give those profits all to the charity. When I say we give it to them, EVERY dime of our raffle ticket sales along with all the profits from t-shirt sales and any other donations will go DIRECTLY to the charity we are representing. This club pockets NO money off of any charity drive that we do.
With that being said we need suggestions Post up who you'd like to help or what organization you think needs our help (remember on the organizations the smaller the better, we love the underdog!!). After this is finished, The Founders will then take these suggestions and look through all of them and make a decision on which one to help. Just because your suggestion wasn't picked doesn't mean we won't use it in the future. So let's get to it everyone!!!! Post up and lets get some great ideas so we can get the ball rolling

Ok, here goes mine... One of my coworker's 6 yr old son was hit by a car a couple of months ago. He suffered several fractures and a brain injury. He was at LeBonheur for a while, and recently transferred to Atlanta for intensive physical therapy. He is having to relearn how to walk and speak. He's doing great with his recovery, but still has a heck of a long way to go. I've known his mom for about 4 years now and know that this family would greatly appreciate it, especially coming from a jeep family (they own a TJ and have been wanted to join on some rides but never had the chance). So there's my suggestion.

Amanda has been keeping us up to date with this. Would be a great cause!
All, keep in mind this run will be mid to late July, so the check handover will not be until early August.

Not knowing when she will come back to work is a biggie right now. I actually asked another coworker that is close to her if she thought it would be helpful that far out and she said definitely.

She knows Lynda better than anyone at the office.

Children are my weak spot. Really hate to hear of something like that happening to children and I know how tough it can be on a family because my son was in a full body cast at two years old for several months from an accident. This will definitely be on the top of my list but please keep the suggestions coming.

I'm not sure if we will make the run or not, but this little guy definitely needs us. Maybe we can do some charity stuff before the run, locally, so that we can involve some people that like to lurk but not really run. Maybe someone can setup a paypal to receive payments. This family will need as much as they can get. If we start on it now and collect through the run, we should be able to substantially help them.

So there's my suggestion. I like this.. 1. it's a child and his family in need. B. They are Jeepers. Bobbie has another great idea about getting charity drives ahead of the run for the same cause.. Make up some posters (I hear Emily and Chris are good at that. ) and use them at different events.. Car wash, cruise ins etc. Loving it!!

The more we could have for the family. Which is why I requested doing G.T.D. Shirts a little while back.

I was going to suggest something along the lines of what MJ has put up. But I was going to say pick a family in need with a child at LeBonheur that doesn't have insurance that may need help. I know that patients there without insurance sometimes can get assistants with medical bills through donors. But I also like her idea. She and a couple of others know the family which can make it just that much personal.

There is also the Go Fund Me site.. Not sure how much they charge for that tho but might be a good option for getting the word out..

Another friend of ours is selling t-shirts as well. That could be one way to sell shirts for the run too. www.booster.com/ug-14304151604979076
