Here is a video I shot from inside my land rover crossing that same creek (Richland Creek). The water was way up and my 5500# land rover was floating sideways. Its lifted 3" and on 32" tires with a Turbo Diesel and snorkel. Then we went on to cross the buffalo river which I wish I had on film because it was about a foot deeper and the water actually ran up the winshield a bit.Lol www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=599190034150&l=5594695863959669177

that was in late march early april. Usually most the streams are passable but we wanted a challenge (dumb Idea) so we went right in the middle of the spring showers and ice thaw that really fills up the water ways.

I'd really like to go on this one, but think I'll be leaving for NYC on that weekend. Maybe I push the trip off until Monday.

I was out there Backpacking the Buffalo River (Ponca to Pruitt) last weekend (4/12/14) thinking there must be good offroad trails out there, then I came across the Overland thread today. Looks cool.
While backpacking I noticed the water on the Buffalo is pretty high right now and will probably be getting higher with future April showers. We had to do a couple of water crossings. One required us to borrow a canoe from a couple camped out on the side of the river to get our packs across. It was bellybutton high and the current was STRONG in the channel.
I hope I can go. Curious if 3" lift and my 33's will get me across the river crossings.
Besides that, the scenery is f'n awesome. Series of waterfalls around every corner. Huge bluff lines. And the trees had just budded this last weekend. And if you haven't seen the color of the Buffalo River, oooh. Don't look into it's eyes, it'll mesmerize you.

If I make the trip I've just got a 2.5in suspension and 1.5in body lift and 33s.

Y'all are making waaaay too much of this. Most overland vehicles do not have large lifts and huge tires. The area you are going is not that bad. Yes there are some stream crossings. Yes the water has the potential to be high. You sure best judgment and go around if you need to.
The only one that should be of any major issues is the Buffalo River. And you can bypass around that.
