Disc Brake Swap for Drum axles... This worked for me as I used a 93 housing. Disclaimer; I've been told this is not always the case though. All I did was take the disc brake stuff, backing plate out and bolt it to my drum housing. The shafts and housings are the same (in my case..I don't see where there would be any difference). That being the case you could go grab backing plates, calipers, rotors, and pads to easily convert an 8.8 to disc brakes. Although you may want to consider a master cylinder upgrade for this to.... For my B2 it'll be a f250. For a Jeep, idk! I didn't have to make any changes to the master cylinder when I put the 8.8 with discs in. Just hooked them up and bled them and went on my way.

Most jeeps that go to full width ton axles upgrade to a Dodge 2500/3500 truck master cylinder. More volume for bigger brakes. 8.8 brakes prolly are not much bigger if any than D35/drum brakes.

I've always heard it's recommended when going from drum to discs. Idk...

That's what I did.. never tried running the bigger brakes on the stock MC so I couldn't tell ya how much difference there was.. but it would lock the brakes up on the 14 bolt..

When the abs light comes on, the system disarms itself as a safety precaution. No need in disconnecting everything. If the light being on bothers you, pull the cluster and cut the circuit to the bulb. You could always repair the circuit if you put the right components back in it.

But pulling a relay and fuse doesn't require taking part of the dash apart to get to a bulb....
