ITS F'ING RUNNING. Did the 20 minute break in, set the valves, burnt the piss outta my fingers, and let it cool down.
Now I'm sitting in the cab eithe motor running. I don't have to make engine noises anymore.
Monday PS box is gone to get rebuilt and hopefully it'll be back an installed before the weekend.
I MIGHT make the winter run and not have to rise bitch in a jeep.
Really need some miles and hours in this thing before I take it off road. Do not need an alcohol testosterone induced moment and ruin my new motor.
My buddy said he's never seen a Toyota motor run this smooth before. To say the least I am impressed as hell.
Now in to the beer.

got a few more little odds and ends tied up. Throttle linkage is done and the coolant leak is fixed.
All I'm waiting on now is my steering box to come back and my gears to come in. Hopefully it will all be here when I get back from the winter run.

For the first time in Hos knows how many years I have the fan shroud , factory breather and all lines hooked up. It starts and runs like a top. Now to get the manual choke hooked up and working right.
The brake proportioning valve is plumbed in.
Now to get all this working correctly and ill be ready to go

Tell the worthless F&*KS in city hall to give me a raise so I don't have to work as much at my second job and it'll come along a little faster. Right now my two biggest problems are money and time.

Talked to the people at West Texas Off Road, redneck Rams, and they said my steering box will be done today or Monday morning. Either way it'll be on the big brown truck Tuesday heading home.
Found a place that cut me a screaming deal on my gears and install kits. Ordering those mon or tue.
Finally it's coming together.

I was completely fed up with my build, then one day it was done. I swear I was about to give up. Glad to see yours is finally coming to an end.

Honestly if I could move mine out of the shop I think I would've already moved it outside. Glad I didn't now. It's getting close. Tomorrow I am building a jig to hold my third members and also a homemade spanner wrench for the aide adjusters.
Tomorrow plans are to get shop organized and axles out before I have to go to work. If I can do all that I'll be pretty happy.
David I know I give u shit about yours taking a while to get going but I do realize that projects like this don't just fall together overnight. Between bills, life, and work there just isn't enough hours in a day.

Just got off the phone with West Texas Off Road and my steering box is finished and in the truck home. Should be here on or before the 24th.
$160 for complete rebuild $44 shipping $204 total
WTOF seems like a great company to do with. As soon as I paid I had a shopping invoice within 15 minutes.
Anyone need work like this is recommend them based on my experience and also the fact that my biz was delayed for 2 weeks because the owner/rebuilder was at King of Hammers. He's an off Roader like us.

Steering box left Houston sort facility this morn at 0900 hrs. Getting closer.
Just checked and it arrived in Little Rock at 1620 hours. If it Makes it to the station tomorrow I am going to call and see if I can pick it up instead of waiting on it to be delivered Monday.

![](http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd94/mpdxtreme/1478942B-BE7B-4CF2-BA46-12B8310AEE4E.jpg) Got these finished yesterday. Was planning on installing the proportioning valve and bleeding brakes and clutch master. Easy right? Hell no. Trucks up in air, brakes pumped up and the brake line from the front of the truck to the rear decided to split wide open and spew brake fluid all over the place. $22 later, 25 ft roll of steel brake line from auto zone, and a couple of double flares and u have a whole new brake line. One less thing to worry about I guess. Steering box is at UPS on Brooks Rd. Really hoping it's going to make it to my house tomorrow. Really want to drive this thing again. GG

Ok spent about 5 hours on the Toyota last night. Got the steering box all mounted up and started cycling the steering and noticed that the drag link was hitting on the mount for the Hydro assist. Anyway 5 hours later the mount had been cut off, reshaped and moved over about 3/4 inch. No more hitting and now I have full steering to the right. Tonight I am going to watch it snow and bleed the steering system and MAYBE back it out of the shop. Its getting there, slowly but surely. Now for the pics West Texas Off Road did an awesome job on their packaging. ![](http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd94/mpdxtreme/811E4FFA-DC1D-4AF4-976A-EAADF02147D8.jpg) ![](http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd94/mpdxtreme/B288DA78-1D06-4DA2-B4E6-0CCAF95A93CC.jpg) Highly recommend if anyone needs steering box service. Filled the p/s system ad bled it out last night. Took several hours to get all the bubbles out but it's quiet and smooth now. The hydro assist works so much better now than in the past. It was so nice to have the truck running, everything working correctly, and it not puking fluids, smoking, knocking, rattling and carrying on like in the past. ![](http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd94/mpdxtreme/313814A8-C8C2-409C-8442-86C705EE77E8.jpg) ![](http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd94/mpdxtreme/264EF409-39FA-4AE9-BB4C-7C4A9980AA83.jpg) The shop towel is because I overfilled the reservoir and it ran down on my cleas steering box.
