I got the trans installed Friday. All new clutch parts. When I started the install the trans literally fell in in the first try and I made the mistake of saying this is gonna be easier than I thought. It went to hell after that. 2of the bell housing bolts were too short, I had a motor mount assembled wrong so the whole drivetrain was shifter over about an inch and a half. The two captive bolts inside the frame escaped but it's all in there now. Next up is fuel lines, pressure regulator and pressure gauge. Hope to start it next weekend. GG

Its nothing earth shattering but I have overcome one major concern. Installed all the CORRECT radiator hoses and my Chevy alternator clears everything. The cooling fan on the chevy was so much bigger than the ones on the original it has always been close to the hoses. Now I have several inches clearance.
Now to get the fuel lines and heater hoses and it'll be ready to try and start.

How much fuel pressure you running? I got an electric pump that's good for 5-9 psi and it's working great so far. Just curious as to how much pressure your engine needs.

I think he's running a Weber and it takes a different pressure. 3-4 psi I think.

They recommend 3-4 for the weber but a lot of the off road guys on the forums say to regulate it down to between 2-3 for iff road. Guess I'll keep an Allen wrench handy till I figure it out.
Really needed to who in this thing this weekend but just haven't had any motivation.

After getting a good charged battery in the Toy I apun it over a little this morning. Nothing so I poured a little has down the carb and it fires right up. Ran for a second or two and then died. At least i know it'll start now. This bitch is going to run this afternoon
It ran for about 20 seconds. Now to set time and do break in and see what all is leaking
Well it runs. Ran about 5 minutes but one of my homemade block off plates is leaking antifreeze. Might have to pull intake to fix that.
Timing is set
Almost there.
