5.29's with 2.28/4.7 gives you a cr of 208:1, not sure the weak 5.71 pinion is worth the gain.

My order from 22RE Performance came in the other day. Slowly been redressing the motor getting ready to drop it in. $400 worth of Toyota OEM parts. I'm still mamzed at whats available from Toyota for this old truck.
Question - the distributor was full of crud and I am going to replace it. New OEM is almost $400 and I really don't want to spend that much right now so has anyone had any luck with companies like Cardon? They have a "new" one with vacuum advance for under $90 at Rock Auto.
This $1400 motor is about to go over the $2000 mark real fast and I still need gears and xfer case doubler.

Sure hope you didn't use stock timing chain guides back HELL NO. They are the metal backed ones. Never dealing with broken guides and plastic in the oil pan again. GG

That happened to the first Toy i ever owned. When I filled up a radiator drain pan with crankcase milk shake oil from the oil pan I said this'll never happen again.

Have to work my second job Kroger this afternoon so not much is getting done today. Plans are to get the old shock mounts cut off, prep the frame for the new mounts, and then pull steering box. Shipping it to Rednexk Rams for a rebuild. Never felt with them before but I have read a lot of positive things about them on Pirate and Yotatech. Rebuild is $160 plus round trip shipping.

I've got to do my front mounts still too. But I got the F250 mounts that were like 40 bucks shipped for the pair. If you haven't noticed, I'm a cheap ass.

With gearing that low you'll be able to stand outside with your beer and watch it crawl the line!

Last weekend we went to assemble the motor and trans and get it all ready to drop in. Discovered that I have 2 of the bell housing bolts, one of the trans support brackets has a stripped hole, throw out bearing was wrong, and the clutch fork retaining clip was broken. 22RE performance to the rescue. He managed to get everything I needed rounded up and it should ship tomorrow. I did get the manifold plugkit from LCE and my new distributor will be here tomorrow also. About the only real progress I've made is getting the flywheel on and the clutch installed. Hopefully next weekend I can get it all installed and start buttoning up the install. Gonna do all the odds and ends after the motor is in to lessen the chances of breaking something. Only pic I have is GG
