I've been having issues with my bolts coming loose on my arms... Well they finally sheered 2 of them off at HP last run.. So I make a bracket to help with the stress and tied them into the knuckle.. The problem now is the front bolt won't come out.. James brought a carbide bit over and actually crilled most of the innards out of it and it still wouldn't come out with an ez out.. So I guess I'm gonna have to get a tap and see if I can save it.. If not I'll just run 2 bolts and the extra support on the knuckle...

Not sure if this is even feasible. Can you drill it out and fill it with weld and then drill and tap that?

Thought about that... but I think what I'm gonna do instead is drill it out to 9/16 and run a bolt thru it with a nut on the bottom... As long as you have a bolt in there that stays tight it should be the same thing.. especially with the added support i have on it now..

That should work. I haven't seen one break a stud off like that but if anybody could do it would be you Charlie.

I think it happened when the front got bound up in between 2 rocks.. wouldn't move so I got on it and it "broke loose" just didn't realize it was the bolts that broke..

There's no telling what kind of abuse that thing took before you got it either

I broke two bolts off on the buggy. They were grade 8 bolts and didn't have the tapered head to fit in the arm like the acorn nuts on a stud would have. I tried to drill/tap mine out and had zero luck also. This was all on a D60 knuckle but same principle.
