This year at our 1st Official Run in The Sun we will be helping out a little girl from Batesville, Ms. Her name is Kendra Bailey and she is 8 years old. After Kendra was born she hit her head, the family believes this created a tumor that was found when she was 3 years old which eventually lead to her having to have the left lobe of her brain removed. Not only has this precious little girl had to endure this event, she has recently been diagnosed with HHT Disease. Our goal will be to raise as much money as we can so we can help Kendra's grandparents, Ray and Charolette Hopper, care for her and her two sisters. Ray and Charolette took on the task of caring for their grandchildren but quickly found out that it's difficult to pay the bills, keep food on the table, and pay for fuel to drive from Batesville to go see Kendra's doctors in Jackson, Ms.
All of the proceeds from our raffle ticket sales will go directly to Kendra. NONE of the money will go to the club. We are working with several different vendors who are going to supply us with raffle items. We will also be taking monetary donations at the run if you want to do that as well. And just to let you all know, the Delta Rose Flea Market in Batesville, Ms. is holding an event for Kendra on June 8th. We were asked to participate but were already committed to the 4WP event. They will be having a silent auction, a live auction, Boston Butts for sale and raffle tickets for a chance to win $100.00.
