Yeah it would be a shame for him to buy a newer diesel capable of doing anything he needed it too and not blow head gaskets or be in the shop all the time for random shit. We have powerchokes and dirtymaxes at work, the dmax trucks last longer, are much more reliable and get better fuel economy doing it.

I've had it for three years now and only thing I've had to do is replace the P/S pump. The EFI-Live tuning is wonderful. I can make it get 19-20 mpg with the Econ. tune, or twist the switch and get 15 on the tow tune. The weak link on the D-Max trucks is in the front end. The IFS leaves a lot to be desired. Other than that I love my truck.

I don;t get it.. you would think guys would like it more.. Thanks blackmax.. I'm sure our next diesel will be 2wd tho.. not really any need in 4wd for what we use it for..

Mine is 4 wheel drive but now it is more like a 2 wheel drive thanks the free spin kit I put in it. Mileage has changed a lot but it does coast better and the steering has a better feel to it.

Here is my daily driver and until recently my tow rig. 2002 Dmax. Suncoast stage 4 Allison, built injection pump, Garrett 4094 charger, custom dyno tuned ECM, etc, etc, etc. Makes 612 HP and 1166 Ftlbs at the rear wheels. Great truck. 322,000 miles- all by me This is my new tow rig. It was my Dad's until his passing this past July. Now it is my weekend driver and Jeep tow truck. 2203 Duramax. 4 " exhaust and Predator box. Other than that it is stock. 186,000 mi
