OK... So were planning a trip to CO. in a couple months.. We had been talking about getting a small camper for just the 2 of us that can be pulled by whatever my company car is at the time.. Which will more than likely only have a tow rating of about 2000 lbs. So we got to looking.. and this is what Melissa fell in love with.. A Teardrop Trailer. www.google.com/search?q=teardrop+trailer&client=firefox-a&hs=FqU&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=Tz59Uc2WHoTo8gSZiYCwDg&ved=0CF4QsAQ&biw=1366&bih=605We found a place in MO. that rents them for $350 for 5 days.. That we are considering renting for our trip. But she's wanting to buy one since we'll use it all the time. It's small enough to carry with the company car so gas is elcheapo.. It's big enough for just the two of us. Has everything you need to cook, clean and store.. etc. So does anyone have one or know anyone that has one? Would love to get first hand experience knowledge..

That's pretty cool...just a souped up tent on wheels! Wonder how much they cost?

I think the RV dealer off Brooks Rd has them. I pass by there everyday on my way to work and remember seeing one out there. I bet they pull good behind something about the same height

They range new anywhere from 8K to 20K.. You can find them used cheaper.. usually around 4 to 5K,.. They are kind of pricey considering.. The place that rents the Silver Shadow also sells that model for 12K so for $350 a week to try it out isn't too bad..
I've seen pics of people with Smart cars, Prius's and even motorcycles towing them... So they are VERY easy to tow

Yikes, that's much more than I expected, about the price of a full size camper! Of course light weight isn't cheap if its well made...I would definitely rent one to try before I sank that much money into it though!

Would rather "borrow" one from someone.. it's cheaper. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

If it looks good then we'll rent one for the week.. If she likes it then we may look into buying.. I've seen a lot of these built into offroad trailers with RTT's too..
