This is the 12 bolt chevy that's in her now. I know you probably think that's a weird choice for rock crawling but I already had 4.56 gears and a detroit locker for it, so it was a good choice for now. Here's the ford HP44 I found for the front. RC long arm kit 6" springs

Warn X8000I winch that after replacing 4 solenoids, 1 controller, 1 motor, 2 bearings, 1 bearing plate, and 1 cable and hook, I should've just bought a new winch and saved me some money. I went to pull a part and picked up some leather seats looks much better now Got the rear axle built and painted and put on some 36" iroks I added a truss from T&T. It's not supposed to fit the 44's with the cast wedges but you can make anything fit with a grinder

I like these alot better. This is a shot after I cut and extended the wheel tubs and before I started relocating the gas tank When I moved the rear axle back, it started bumping the tank and eventually put a hole in it....twice I also made a new rear bumper for it I didn't want the tank sitting back there just looking stupid so I decided to cover it up. I had to cut up this old tool box. IIRC I shortened it by like 20"

Good looking XJ man. Any particular reason you flipped your gas tank around?

Good looking XJ man. Any particular reason you flipped your gas tank around? Yea since the tank angles up at the rear, I wanted to give that extra room for the rear end. I reversed the leaf springs, so it moved the axle back like 6" and the chunk would bump the tank. And also when I would run low on gas the motor would stall on a steep incline. Now my pump's at the back where the gas will run too. And it's really easy to get to the pump if I have too. The only con is I have to relocate the filler neck. I've got it in the wheel tub now (out of the way of the tire), but I haven't put gas in it yet to see if it's gonna work.

nice build. Maybe you could extend the fuel fill tube out the side up higher than the tires, It couldn't be that hard and you could still fill it from out side the vehicle.
