What setup is everyone running? Not so much you trail rig only guys, but the daily drivers. My original plan was a Spartan in the front and an ARB in the rear. I don't want that awful clicking noise and heard that mainly came from the rear locker. What do you guys suggest and what are y'all running?

personally I like, the rear locked more for everyday driving If I had the money I would do mechanical in back and arb up front i don't mind the clicking as long as I can steer. Remember I'm a toyota guy.

I would actually do the opposite... Auto in front and selectable rear.. especially for a DD rig.. ARB isn;t your only option tho.. They have electric lockers and manual lockers too.. Problem is price.. They usually run beyween 800 and 1000 for a selectable

I know I am going to spend that for the selectable, but didn't know about more than the ARB. Any brand names I can look at or you suggest?

I don't have a locker in the rear, but I do like my Spartan that I have in the front. The first few weeks, it did pop....LOUD...but after we changed the diff cover from stock to a Solid, it seemed to go away. Theory is it holds more fluid so it covers the noise.

No major effects on your steering? The Xj and LJ are about the same size and I know it's already like driving a short bus sometimes.

It didn't effect the steering at all. When I'm just driving it, I can't even tell it's there.

I have Spartans in both axles and I don't even know they are there as long as I don't punch it while I am turning. If I do, it'll bark the inside tire a little on the rear...

I have ARB in front and Lock Rite in rear. Have been running this setup for over 10 yrs. my wife daily drove our Jeep for 6 yrs that way. The clicking is not that noticeable once you get used to it.
You will break the front end far less having the ability to unlock it when not needed. I have had zero issues with my ARB FWIW.
