This is really what I'm wanting to do.. maybe start small with some weekend trips just over in Arkansas. This was more of the thought process when modding my B2 anyway, it's not a rock rig.. problem is, I've never done it... I don't really know what to carry, what not to carry. I'm thinking a lot of what I see most people carry wouldn't be needed for just a 2-5 day trip when it's something like AR, not really out in the middle of no where. Would be tent camping, probably invest in a Coleman Instant Tent for camping reasons anyways as mine is HUGE and takes to long to put up. What's a basic list of stuff to carry? I'd like to get together a list and then start thinking of the best ways of packing everything... I can fold the seats down and have enough room I think. How do you find the maps of trails and areas you can ride? What other mods would I need to my B2 for this? b2b-offroad.freeforums.net/thread/63/mall-crawler-bronco-2only thing that might worry me is water crossings, I have done zero waterproofing measures. Anyone have input? Slaw? What's your advice? Anyone want to head up a small run soon that has experience so I can see what it's like?

I'd be interested in an overland trip, my wife and I have been on several overland trips but we stay in hotels instead of camping, we don't need to carry near as much stuff. I think most people carry too much stuff, you are rarely very far from civilization. Remember, tons of people overland on motorcycles and carry what they need, we have plenty of room so we tend to overpack. Anyway, I've thought of picking a weekend and planning a 2 or 3 day weekend trip across Arkansas, I have maps and think it would be fun if we could get it organized.

I would like to do this as well. If you search Ouachita, Ozark and St. Francis National Forests public use maps, you can can come up with the forest service maps, showing orv trails/roads, atv only etc. a little while back, I was looking over the maps, comparing them to Google Earth, thinking of doing a little exploration. Then life got in the way, and it kind of fell by the wayside.

Lots of info on the Central Overland Forum. Also the AR tourism dept has some free trail maps and such. As far as what to take. Keep it simple. I ride a DS motorcycle and can take a 5 day trip out of a duffle, and 2 saddle bags. Doing it out of a vehicle is easy. ![](http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu200/joshualgraves/Dr%20650/IMAG0205.jpg) ![](http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu200/joshualgraves/Vacation%202009/CIMG2883.jpg) Dont' have any of doing this in the Jeep. I always get so busy riding/ driving that I forget to stop and take pics. I am no expert by any means, but if you need some help making a gear list Ben I will be happy to help. I camp out of a backpack frequently. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Here is a pic of a weekend trip I took my paraplegic buddy on. We packed it all in a Rhino and had plenty of room even with his chair! ![](http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu200/joshualgraves/Bushcraft/2012-02-10091408.jpg)

Would any of these trips be able to be made on an ATV or would there by highway miles driven? I really think this is something me and my middle son could get into!

That's what I'm wondering... since mine isn't street worthy but would love to take it... I saw one of the maps for the Arkansas trails and it had some street as well as offroad...

Yeah, most of the trips I have done are on county roads and a few trails. The county roads are only improved if there are homes on them, you would be surprised how difficult some can be. Charlie, most of them have turns, sorry pal.
