Well...the Jeep was running fine yesterday. Started it up this morning and could immediately tell something was off..it was idling really rough. CEL came on and it was P0305...misfire cylinder 5. So I cut off the key and looked under the hood to see if anything looked off. Nothing did, so I started it back up and it was still idling really rough. Unplugged cylinder 5 injector and there was no audible change. 85k miles on the engine. My thought is to change the spark plugs and check for the misfire again. If that doesn't fix it, I will try swapping the #5 injector to #4 and see if the misfire follows. If that doesn't do anything I will change out the coil pack. Hopefully that fixes it but man I just can't catch a break on my vehicles having issues.

I would bet coil pack before injector.

Well Daniel talked to one of his techs for me and had me check a harness on the back side of the engine that may have rubbed on a stud. It looked good, no rubbing or anything, so on lunch, I pulled the #5 spark plug and it didn't appear to be fouled or look too bad, but I changed it anyway (will change others later). Since it didn't have fuel all over it, that tells me that cylinder isn't getting any fuel, so I'm gonna go ahead and just start out later by swapping the injector on 5 over to 4 and see if the misfire follows.

Hahahaha I checked the trans fluid the other day and it looks to be burnt and a little low, so I'm gonna do a full flush and see if that helps...if not it looks like I may be pulling the trans...or just leaving it haha...who needs a locked torque converter anyway??
