I have a DTC for a knox sensor on a Chevy 5.3. Where is it located? And is it something that just screws in or snaps in? Thanks

yep just screws into the block but I'm not exactly sure where on the 5.3. On my 4 cyl in the S-10 it's on the passenger side of the block

I forgot to say it is on Bank 1. I think that is driver side on the chevy?

It actually appears that that engine has them in or under the intake manifold, and if I were you and they weren't too expensive I might change them both while you have it apart maybe this will help you www.jimfancher.com/sierra/p0332.htm

I changed out the knock sensors today in the tow rig. Interesting and time consuming but it can be done in your driveway. Putting fuel rails back on can be tricky. Cheverolet has a poor design for the placement of said sensors. Too easy for moisture to pool up around the sensors. Anyway, if you ever have to do it then don't hesitate to try it yourself.

So far so good. Just drove it about 10 miles to check it out. Those sensors are expensive at 47$ each plus a set of manifold gaskets were 36$. A shop would charged at least 300$ to install. And those how to vids are really useful.

yeah.. it's not a hard job, just annoying/time consuming. I did it on a family friend's Silverado. watched a similar video before doing it to! lol.
to bad he didn't fork up the money to do them all at once tho. just did the 1 showing the code... about 6 months later he had to have a different one done. That time he did them all.

yeah, he's a stingy stingy man... Dumb idea in that case. It bit him in the butt to. I didn't have to change the second one. I was busy and he needed it done asap. My axle swap was more important to me lol

All I had was the code, i understand that if left unfixed, can lead to excessive gas usage and poor performance.
