XJ to TJ fuel pump swap

The TJ pumps are pretty expensive but the junk yards are full of XJ's with pumps that will work with a little work. It's actually a very easy swap

Of course you need to pull the tank, removed the hoses and wires and unscrew the ring holding the pump in and remove the pump




The XJ pump is on the left, TJ on the right



Now you need to remove the outer casing from the TJ pump and slide out the pump, it might take a little push with a screwdriver from the bottom







You will see that the pump itself is the same



Swap the ends, and i would strongly suggest new filters 



Slide the case back on and reinstall it,

 When I removed mine the first time the filter on the bottom fell off in the tank and I didn't realized it even had one there until I poured the rest of the fuel out of the old tank, by this time I had already installed the new tank



After it's all reinstalled remove the bleeder cap on the fuel rail, turn the key on, press the valve to release air from the fuel system.
