I have to get a new exhaust put on Russells TJ. Should I go with a CAT back? Should I just cut it off? It is rusted out. Any suggestions on where or who? I do not want it loud.

You've heard mine...I cut the cat off and had a piece of pipe welded in place of the cat, as well as a Banks cat back system that I got off eBay for a steal! There are cheaper options, suck as the thrush pipes and others from Autozone, but I spent a lil more money up front and went with Banks, because it's all stainless steel, and will prpbably outlast the Jeep!

If you live in TN. then you'll prolly need to keep the cat... If not then cut it off.. I did and put a 3" glass pack on it.. before that I had a Flowmaster but it had a bad drone on the highway... But you said you didn;t want it loud... So a cat back would be fine just get one that's not loud.. They should list the Db level on the box

If you live in a city or county that has inspections you'll have to have the cat. Whether visual or tailpipe test if you get caught without it, it's a big fine. Just FYI.

I need to do something to mine. My flowmaster has a few good dents in it. Would love to tuck it all the way under my skids but need a smaller muffler to do that.

I have a Borla muffler on mine. It has a little bit of added tone, but not much. I don't like my Jeep loud. I have been very happy with it. I still have my cat.
