How's the trans in the Rincon holding up? I almost bought one a few years ago but heard the trans was not holding up good. It is the three speed auto correct? I heard it would work ok for just riding but not to work it pulling a trailer or anything.

It has 2500 miles on it and I have had no problems with the Rincon at all except some fuel problems because I let it sit without cranking it for close to a year. That being said If I had it to do over again i would by another of the 420's because it is geared better and the new one's have independent rear suspension and full automatic , which was only available on the the Rincon at the time, and it will out pull that 650 all day long The Honda's are the only 4-wheelers that have hydraulic transmissions like a car and I have had many many Hondas and never had a problem with any of them.

The Honda's are the only 4-wheelers that have hydraulic transmissions like a car and I have had many many Hondas and never had a problem with any of them. Maybe it was some of the early ones that had issues. A friend talked me out if one at the time cause his trans had went out and it was two months out if warranty. Seems like it cost him about $2K to fix to. Instead I bought a Suzuki King Quad 700 FI. It was a beast.

I haven't heard of anyone having trouble with any of them but I guess it's possible.

I think it was because folks were trying to use them like the older gear box ATV's and they didn't hold to the abuse. But that was along time ago. When the belt drive units came out I don't know how many belts friends of mine went thru trying to ride and drive like the other models.
Glad your has been a good one.

The Rincon transmission issues are usually from folks who put huge tires on em and mud them hard. They just aren't made for that! They are GREAT trail and farm bikes.
