   Helping a friend of mine with some routine maintenance in his truck. We are doing knock sensor, intake gaskets, timing belt, tensioner, cam cover gaskets and whatever else we find that needs work. This motor is a total rats nest of vacuum tubes. Hope we remember where these all go. Hope to have it running next weekend. GG |

I agree there is a ton of crap on that engine. Makes me like my little 4 cyl with a carb and 2 vacuum lines a lot more.

A little follow up to this, we got it all back together and it ran great. A few weeks after this my buddy took it to Wind Rock and on the trip there and back he averaged 18-19 mpg on the highway. He said that before this the best he was getting was 16 on a good day. Definitely worth the work and money.
