He still doesn't need to over load the tounge or the hitch. Read on the tounge it prolly says 500 lbs. tounge weight. The way that trailer is set up when he loads it he's prolly got 2000-2500 lbs. weight on it. That much weight will eventually break the tounge off. A weight dist. Hitch will help yes, but not that much.

Yeah, you need weight on the bumper, but not all of it. Overload the rear axle and you lose your steering.

To get it where it rides and pulls and sits good I have to have the back tires of the jeep like a foot from the back edge of the trailer. No problem towing but it gives me no where to tie down to and the ass end of the tub is hanging off the trailer. Plus I plan on putting a tool box on the tongue and a winch so that's only adding more weight up front. I think a 2' extension will do exactly what I need it to do. I'll look into the distribution hitch too.

I've gotten used to it not having them but I know they can be added so that may be something I do later. Right now I need to get it to where it's set up to tow either one of our rigs.

Add a 2' dovetail.. you'll have the extra room and loading is a lot easier.. What a brilliant idea.... Wish I'd have thought of it You can get some measurements off of mine. I have a block of wood on mine that I pull to and it seems to balance the load perfectly. You just need to get the jeep centered on the axles.

I don't know if you can do this but I found that if I pulled the Toy onto the trade forward the truck rode rough as all hell. Last time I towed I backed the Toy on the trailer and with the engine over the 2 axles it pulled like a dream. Maybe try backing the jeep onto the trailer and see what happens.
