Question for all your axle gurus: I have either a 78 or 79 Ford F250 4X4. What axles would be most commonly found underneath, assuming it's stock? I will try and google it also, just figured some of you already know. Chris

Probably D60 front and rear. Could have a D44 front and a D60 rear. F250 will be 8-lug for 3/4 ton suspension.

Most likely it's a D60 front and rear... and the front will have kingpin knuckles... It's the golden year for what you want for a 1 ton build... I'll give ya $500 for the front ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

That's what I need for the front of the 4runner. I believe they should be the D60 Kingpin. Drivers side drop.

Don't strip the axles, I LOVE that style truck, build it!!! Body is beat pretty bad. Axles are good as far as I know. I banged around in it back in 02-06, got re-married, quit having time to play with toys as much, so it's been sitting a while. I don't have the money to build it like it needs to look decent. I do have $1200 invested in the axles and driveshafts and front hubs. Other than that, I got it dirt cheap. Motor runs, but is weak and smokes like crazy.

I'm not so sure about the D60 in an F250 unless it is a snow fighter, or maybe a high boy. Just see if it has ball joints or king pins. If it's ball joints then it should be a hp44.
