As posted in the build thread, we were hit by another driver and flipped the old YJ last week. I should be picking it up today. While I would like to keep it and build it into a dedicated trail rig I'm not really in a position to do so right now (it would sit in storage for too long before I MIGHT have the funds). So is anyone interested in a 1988 YJ for parts or a project?
I do think that I can get it to move under its own power pretty easy. The driver side of the rearend had slid forward on the leaf spring. I think if I can pull the rearend back into place it just might work. The driveshaft survived and was still attached to the rear end last time i saw it (upgrade from stock straps to Ford ubolts was a great decision).
Won't steer as the rod from the box to wheels the was broken but the tie rod between the wheels survived so at least the front wheels are connected to each other.
Tub is pretty rusty in front floor boards.
Frame has some rust too.
I have title and from my research (to be confirmed today) I don't think i have to get a salvage one.
It has a strong 4.0l from a 2wd 1995 Cherokee. I have 4.2 intake and a carb on it now, but I do have a crate with all of the Cherokee external parts (intake, injectors, ac compressor, alternator, etc.) that can go with it.
Transmission was upgraded to an AX-15. Axles are D30 and D35 with 3.07 I believe.
I also have the full hard doors that can go with it.
Would like $750 for all of it. Let me know if anyone is interested.

Just remember...we give them back in 10 months
