I recently had a leak on the passenger side of the 8.8 after the Super 88 kit being installed for a couple of years. I pulled the shaft and replaced the bearing and seal last week and all was fine until it sat a few days when I was out of town. Came home to a small puddle of gear oil under the tire and on the sidewall. The seal is on perfectly and bolts torqued to spec. Any idea why it would still be leaking?

A small groove that I made when cutting off the old bearing that was right where the seal rested. As a gamble, I grabbed some Blue Magic Quik Steel Extreme and filed in the groove and let it cure 24 hours then sanded it smooth. Put it all back together and no leak!
