Are the bushings in the upper/lower front control arms replaceable? Do they just press in and out?

Are the bushings in the upper/lower front control arms replaceable? Do they just press in and out? Greg G Dude I have no idea I was gonna replace the arm with another stock arm. Seems easier lol If it is the axle end control arm bushing, then changing the arm won't help. The bushing is on the axle on the link mount, and the arm has a fork that bolts to it. Usually the axle side tends to wear alot more than the frame side. On my xj, the "frame" side looked great and the axle side looked like it was barely anything left of it. The axle side is a real pain to change. They may look like they are about to fall out, but have fun getting it out. I've done it on 2 xj's and hated every minute of it. Took me about 3 hours or so to change 1 bushing (driver side axle), because I couldn't get the dang thing. Looked like it was about to fall out, with the middle all worn out...but yeah, they like to hang on in there. Maybe yours will be easier. Doesn't really take any skill or special knowledge. Just unhook one of the uppers at a time so that the other control arm keeps everything in place. Then just do what you can to get it out. The new bushing you get will be 2 pieces. Slide a half of it in on each side of the mount. A little grease, and the new ones slide right in. I think if I had a compressor, I would try an air hammer to get it out.The control arm side bushing can be pressed out, because it is in the arm itself, so you can take it off and put in in a press.

When I took the bushings out of my HP30 it left the sleeves in the axle. Multiple blows with a 4lb sledge and a punch and a chisel got it out. I would hate to do this under the Jeep.

For some reason I was thinking they were like the rear uppers but I get what you are saying. I need to make sure that's where it's coming from and go from there
