I have tried a wrench, socket & ratchet, and even vise grips. I can not get the oil plug on my wife's car to budge. It's not corroded and I don't want to strip it. Any ideas??

But no try using two wrenches Use correct size and one for leverage I tried that too. My wrenches started to slip. But I got it. I took it to the guys at Valvoline and they used an extractor on it to break it loose. They had to bear down on it too.

Are you using a 6 point wrench and not a 12 point

They wouldn't slip with the end of a wrench,12 point and another wrench on the end of that one I see it doing it on a 6 point though

I've always used the 12 point end and used another wrench on that one as leverage Never had any issues

You haven't done enough mechanic work to know the difference. Just believe me and always use a 6 point when possible

But I see your logic, won't slip Bc it's being supported on certain angles

Yes, The 6 point touches the entire bolt where a 12 only touches the corners making it easier to strip the corners off
