When I went to Hawk Pride my truck ran awesome for a couple of days an then it was like someone flipped a switch and it was running super rick an acting like it was running on 1 1/2 cylinders and it never straightened out. Now I know hills and carbs don't mix very well. Everything I've read said that the webers are real sensitive to fuel pressure and my stock Toy pump puts out more than what is recommended.
Do y'all think a fuel pressure regulator would help with some of the flooding, I know it won't stop all of it.
After a lot of reading and searching a lot of people said that the cheaper regulators are junk and that the weber one is the best. Before I spend 60-80 on one and a gauge I want to see what y'all think.
I am really wanting to take my truck to Hot Springa for the other sites Spring Run with my buddies.
Also I am not really a carb guy. I've only ever owned one vehicle, other than tractors, that had a carb and it was a Pinto back in the early 80s so I am not to swift on how to make them work good.

After a lot or reading, especially on the Zukis sites it seems like lot of folks are having good luck with the Holley low pressure, 1-4 psi, so thats wht I ordered Fri night anda low pressure gauge. Once my Honda fiasco is over andI get this work done, I'll let everyone know how it works.

Ok well I'm about tondo the carb and fuel regulator on my truck.
Question, should the regulator go in the line between the fuel pump and carb or before the pump?

After taking the top of the carb off. Here is what was done. Drilled the new vent holes and filled the old vent with JB weld. Auto zone didn't have the quick set JB so I went old school with the 15-24 hour set. Tomorrow I am taking this to Home Depot and finding a threaded brass barbes thingy for the new drain. Tune in tomorrow for updates. Greg G.

Just a follow up on this mod. Truck ran great, untill motor let go. No stalling issues because of flooding. If you are runing a weber this is a definitely a worth while mod.
