Well after talking about my plans for the Jeep with my wife last week I was getting ready to start back work on it. She told me that since I've had three Jeps in the last few years that she thought it time she had something to drive. So I've got to find her an older VW bug. So to free up some cash and make momma happy for a little while I'm going to sell the YJ and buy/build her a bug and then get another Jeep. Most have followed my build thread but here is a run down again.
95 YJ Wrangler Sahara Green tan interior family roll bar and tilt wheel.
Hardtop with all good glass
Frame has had all engine and shock mounts cut off and ground down. Motor mounts for a 350 SBC tacked in place. Shock mounts were cut off in plans to outboard and box them in.
It's on a factory set of leafs now, but there not any good. Ave already purchased a set of four factory XJ leafs for a 6" stretch front and rear.
I have a 350 recently rebuilt(not by me but by previous owner). Runs good and strong no smoke and holds great oil pressure after warm up.
400 turbo trans shifted great and no slip when in The truck I bought. With it is a 203 t-case.
14 bolt rear with supposed to be 4.56 gears but I have not pulled cover to verify.
10 bolt front with locking hubs and supposed to be 4.56 gears. There again I have not pulled cover to verify.
The entire driveline was in a 78-79 Chevy K30 that I bought for the conversion and drove for a week to check motor and trans operation.
I'm going to ask $2500 as that's what cash I have tied up in it. Or if anybody know of an older bug I can trade for, for my wife. Happy wife, happy life!
Other parts I have to go with are
Set of headers
4 core radiator
Holley carb
Flowmaster exhaust
And other small misc stuff.
Soon as I get her something I can get back in a Jeep!
Any questions ask away.
