I'm not sure when, and I don't know where yet, but the oil leak on the XJ is starting to get out of control. I cannot work on it in my driveway or carport due to city code. I already have the following parts and supplies- 1. Oil Pan Gasket 2. Valve Cover Gasket 3. Rear Main Seal (2 piece) 4. Transmission Pan Gasket 5. Transmission Filter 6. Lube Lockers for both Front and Rear Diffs 7. Front Diff Armor (might as well since I have to put the Lube Lockers on) 8. Oil and Filter 9. Diff Fluid and Manual Fluid Pump (However I do not know if I need the additive) I have learned quite a bit from helping others whenever I could, but since this is my daily driver, I am hesitant to go it alone on such important things like gaskets, mostly because I've never done them before. At this stage, I am asking who is interested in Supervising and Assisting. I was almost able to get this done a few months back, but cancelled because someone else had actually called "dibs" on the lift at Clyde's before I did. Will be using some tax refund $ to cover refreshments, bay rental, and possibly more, depending on how this ends up happening. Thanks for reading

Let us know when, with as much notice as possible, and I'll help if I'm free. All of those are pretty easy task. The rear main seal will take the longest, but should go pretty easy with the amount of lift you have. The hardest part is fishing the oil pan back in between everything and keeping the gasket in place when bolting it back up. Pretty messy, but I've never had the luxuary of doing it on a lift, just a driveway. I would imagine that would be a huge bennefit over working on your back.

Got surgery today, but finally got the funds in hand to rent a bay somewhere and feed a few folks (with perhaps beer afterwards!) I should be recovered enough to do this in a week to 10 days, maybe longer.
Still interested?

With so many rides and events planned, can you guys pm me or give me a call (or even post here) what weekends are good for you? I will contact Clyde and ask about those weekends and finally get this crap done.

Clyde advised that all of his bays are spoken for and will be for a long time. He did say I could do this work outside if need be.
That being said- I am over on my mileage, the leak is getting much worse, and I need to get this done. Unfortunately, I have no idea what I am doing! Thus, I need help.
The top priority tasks are:
1. Rear Main Seal
2. Valve Cover Gasket
3. Oil Pan Gasket
If I can get those 3 things done, I can handle the rest. The diff oil, armor, etc. are not nearly as important as those first 3.
Does anyone have a place where this can be done? Our XJ is on 6.5" long arms so it might be possible to do it with wheels on the ground. TwoDogs did say I may be able to use his shop- so I will ask him again and confirm.
What day(s) is each of us available??? I haven't heard back from anyone on what day(s) they will be able to help out. There are numerous runs coming up as well as everyone's personal life demands, thus I would like to hear what day(s) work out for others before I start trying to grab a space on any specific day.
Please post up with what day(s) work for you if you're willing to help. Thanks

I don;t mind helping either... here's the problem..
1. I have never even seen a rear main seal let alone changed one.. 2. Run this wknd.. Founders meeting next and on call, wknd after is club meeting, wknd after that is HP run.
If you wanna tackle it on a week day my garage is always open as long as I'm not on call that day.. (it alternates) We can tackle whatever you wanna try.. just can;t guarantee that it will be done in one night...
