OUCH, cut it down and round the corners before you cut the top of your head off! LOL It was next to no effort. The edges aren't sharp either. A quick pass with a 3m bristle disc knocked the edges off.

You can velcro it on the dash so its easy to take out when the doors and top are off. I hard mounted mine there but its easy to unscrew the knobs and take it out.

OK... So now I'm thinking I need a smaller CB... All the mounts and reviews show the compact cb's..

You can build a killer TJ on tons and such but you can't fab a bracket for a CB out of a piece of sheet metal or aluminum??? What's this world coming to!

I don't think you'll like the compact one either. It's nice and cute sitting up there and that's about it IMO!!

FWIW, I had the "all-in one" cb in my JK and I had it coming out of the side of the shifter console. Was just a plug that stayed there. I could plug, or unplug my CB as I wished.
I mounted the clip to the dash beside the radio. It was a pretty clean setup. All wires were hidden and CB could be removed within seconds and put in the glove box when not in use.
There are mixed reviews about the CB, but it always worked great for me... I only ever used it on the trails.
Can't help on where to mount a full size CB. I think Yayger's setup would probably be how I'd go if I had one.

Charlie I actually liked the first one from Extreme. And it looks like the easiest one to replicate. Maybe not a secure enclosure, but front to back support and tucked up high would be the best case then un plug the mic and stow it when not in use to keep it from being obvious to prying eyes.
