I have a very lightweight 6x12 single axle wire mesh trailer I use to haul the rzr on...pulls good but I've been thinking about getting a dual axle trailer just for peace of mind not worrying about one tire blowing out...lol
Kevin on JSM has a 6x12 wooden floor dual axle trailer wanting to trade for a lighter one to pull behind his jeep.
I know the trailer will be heavier but will the dual axle pull better with my rzr on it with the heavier trailer?
How much heavier will the wood floor and extra axle be compared to what I have? Would you even consider a trade or is lighter better? I'm about to go look up the tow rating on my nitro, I can't remember what it is.

How much does the razr weigh and what's the current trailer axle rated at. I wouldnt swap to duals if you don't need them for weight reasons.

I've seen 2000 lbs, 3500 lbs, and 5000 lbs. I know the 5000 was with a tyarnny cooler and a weight distribution hitch.
I've got the bigger engine since its the detonator, its the 4.0 but can't find anything concrete. I believe the rzr weighs around 1200-1400.

Rzr is 1282 pounds from the factory...I do have bigger rims and tires and soon to have a full custom cage so that weight will be higher.
Not sure what weight rating on the axle is but I bought it from the Polaris dealership to haul 2 atv's so I know its enough to haul what I need.
Why do you prefer single axle?

If your trailer can handle it, keep it. I Wouldn't go bigger without getting a bigger tow rig.
just carry 2 spares lol

I would even consider a heavier rated axle under your current trailer before going bigger. Might even do a brake axle...

I love dual axle trailers because they pull smoother and you don't get as much sway when pulling a heavy load.... Unless you put 20 railroad tires on it !!

I've had better luck with dual axle trailers pulling better also. But my single axle sure is nice b/c I can maneuver it around the yard like an oversize wheel barrel. That being said, if my single axle pulled better than it does, I'd prefer it.

Yeah I have both a 14.5'x4' (deck size) and a 18' car hauler. If I can use my smaller trailer, i do.
