I've been running a Warn X8000I on my TJ. I've recently acquired a XD9000I for a fairly reasonable price. The X8000I has been a dandy winch, I've had no problems with it. I wouldn't mind it being a little stronger, but it's done most of what I've asked it to.
I'm going to sell one or mount it on my trailer, not sure... Any advantages to the XD9000I? It worth swapping the two and putting 9000 on my Jeep?

Put the 9 on the Jeep. 8 will do you, but I absolutely love my XD9 on my TJ. It has never let me down. Oh and if you want more juice, I did a write up on an alternator upgrade on a TJ that will run that winch like it was meant to be run.

Swap it.. Not that hard to do and the extra oommpp will be worth it.. A better alternator like Grizz said will make a world of difference... did on mine!

Not jeep specific but I have the Viper 12000 on my Toyota. With the stock alternator it "worked" pretty good with my light truck. I upgraded the alternator to a 95 amp GM alternator and my winch does work better know, also it recovers much faster now after I have to use mine.
